Chaneling The Godfather

And what's with the Godfather? well, way back college days, I used to watch the Godfather Trilogy a hundred fold times together with my amigos during our spare time, since everybody love the classic film, we decided the call our amigos- The Godfathers. The rest was history. Let's say I am Don Vito Corleone. lol. Our group has a lot of stories to tell that even a thousand and one nights would not be enough to relinquish all the stupidity we did in school, in the hospital area and every place we've been.

Nursing Student: Rest And Sleep

Hi guys, what's up? I've been very busy since last week because of my Review. Everything went very fast these days that I got no time checking my blog. Hmf, and this week is going to be a hell. I just got our updated schedule for the review and found out that I have two weeks straight review without review breathers in between, imagine that. Mind you, that would mean that I'll be seating from 8 AM to 5PM the whole day and just glue myself there listening to the review experts, Argh. I was even losing my energy every time I got home from the review. so miserable.

Nursing Life: My Personality Type

After answering a few questions from this site, http://www.ipersonic.com/ I got my so called "type of Personality" which somehow I did agree.

Analytical Thinkers are reserved, quiet persons. They like to get to the bottom of things - curiosity is one of their strongest motives. They want to know what holds the world together deep down inside. They do not really need much more to be happy because they are modest persons. Many mathematicians, philosophers and scientists belong to this type. Analytical Thinkers loathe contradictions and illogicalness; with their sharp intellect, they quickly and comprehensively grasp patterns, principles and structures. They are particularly interested in the fundamental nature of things and theoretical findings; for them, it is not necessarily a question of translating these into practical acts or in sharing their considerations with others. Analytical Thinkers like to work alone; their ability to concentrate is more marked than that of all other personality types. They are open for and interested in new information.

Analytical Thinkers have little interest in everyday concerns - they are always a little like an “absent-minded professor” whose home and workplace are chaotic and who only concerns himself with banalities such as bodily needs when it becomes absolutely unavoidable. The acknowledgement of their work by others does not play a great role for them; in general,they are quite independent of social relationships and very self-reliant. Analytical Thinkers therefore often give others the impression that they are arrogant or snobby - especially because they do not hesitate to speak their mind with their often harsh (even if justified) criticism and their imperturbable self-confidence. Incompetent contemporaries do not have it easy with them. But whoever succeeds in winning their respect and interest has a witty and very intelligent person to talk to. A partner who amazes one with his excellent powers of observation and his very dry humour.

It takes some time before Analytical Thinkers make friends, but then they are mostly friends for life. They only need very few people around them. Their most important ability is to be a match for them and thus give them inspiration. Constant social obligations quickly get on their nerves; they need a lot of time alone and often withdraw from others. Their partner must respect this and understand that this is not due to the lack of affection. Once they have decided in favour of a person, Analytical Thinkers are loyal and reliable partners. However, one cannot expect romance and effusive expressions of feelings from them and they will definitely forget their wedding anniversary. But they are always up to a night spent with stimulating discussions and a good glass of wine!

Nursing Life: Spirituality

The Our Father or otherwise known as the Lord's Prayer is perhaps the best known prayer that is being recited by millions of Christians around the world. This prayer which is absorbed from the Holy Scripture particularly in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke was taught by Jesus to his disciples as a manner of praying to God.

I was just struck by how the Author constructed his reflections in every line of this prayer. One thing that came into my mind was the thought of having this as a constant reminder in my day to day living. This piece challenges our faith to God as it projects a lesson why an individual should be consistent with his words and actions. What a powerful prayer indeed.sigh.

bored and exhausted

When boredom strikes, I sometimes fight it. So here are the two pictures which I edited using Picasa just to entertain myself out of so much exhaustion and sickness. It's just simple with no sense at all. I haven't eaten my lunch yet and it's late afternoon already. I just thought of doing this in madness. Perhaps, this obra could be the result of a decaying mind.

Much like the saying "An Idle's mind is the devil's workshop",
I particularly enjoy playing with the second picture.

Kadayawan 2008 : Indigenous Art Exhibit

These are some of the works by Anoy Catague displayed at the Museo Dabawenyo last August 2008 dubbed as the "Anoy Catague Art Exhibit 2008".

The paintings depict the rich culture of the indigenous people in Mindanao collectively known as the Lumads. Music plays a vital role in the lumad's aspect of everyday living. Music is an expression of love and devotion to their works may it be in a farmer's field, wooing a woman or even a death of a person.

- yes, I did.

Golden Rule, a reflection

My philosophy in life is solely patterned from the maxim taught by almost all of the influential figures the world has produced notably Jesus Christ, Confucius, The Dalai Lama to name a few. This quote which I state in a positive phrase goes like this, “Do Unto Others What You Want Others Will Do Unto you”. I always bear this strong and moving maxim in my entire life which basically gives me a reason to reckon the purpose of doing things in their proper order.

My life exists as it is today because of the people who nurtured me and mold my mentality that life is a journey towards seeking perfection which can only be achieved by doing what is essentially right and evading what is essentially wrong. These people that I am referring to are my family.

Truly, the values instilled by my parents are maintained in every corner of my life, which later on help me to fulfill my ardent desires and endeavors. The phrase practically taught a lot of hard lessons in life. I learned to control my feelings, I learned to accept defeat and I learned to value life as it is. It is not that easy to carry on and commit with this philosophy. I was mocked by some, I was betrayed and I was used, simply because of my ideology and vow to this philosophy

The maxim which I often bear in my mind brings me to what I develop in my life, that is, the sense of volunteerism and the passion for service.

Yes, I admit it is very effortless and free to boast such words but I technically apply it in my daily routines. I learned life the hard way, more appropriate to say, “Been there, done that” way, though premature to say. The embodiment of service and volunteerism is very evident in my life. I just realized that the Divine Providence give me this kind of path simply to help me identify what a flat man lacks-LOVE.
